Clinical and Forensic Psychology Specialties
Dr. Frizzell specializes in assessments for forensic, clinical, intellectual, vocational and educational applications. He also provides individual therapy for most mental health problems and life concerns.
Forensic Psychology
Dr. Frizzell conducts forensic evaluations primarily in the criminal court context, and also provides expert testimony at trial. He also provides consultation to attorneys and judges, as well as organizations such as prisons and jails. Common applications include competency to proceed, restoration to competency, guilty except insane evaluations, and mitigation evaluations.
Clinical Psychology
Dr. Frizzell conducts clinical assessments for a variety of referral questions, such as clarifying diagnosis in complex situations and assisting other medical and mental health professionals with treatment planning. Dr. Frizzell also conducts individual therapy with adults presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns, which may include depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, family of origin issues, and personality disorders.
Social Security Disability Evaluations
Dr. Frizzell routinely works with the Arizona Department of Economic Security and the Social Security Administration as a consultant, conducting disability evaluations for a wide array of psychological, developmental, and neuropsychological problems.
Lectures
Dr. Frizzell is available for lecture in the context of continuing education seminars, educational settings, and professional and organizational meetings. Dr. Frizzell has provided instruction at local psychological association meetings, expert witness conferences, universities and in psychiatry training programs.
